Lance Kenman
Projects
Lance began writing in 2003 with a novel length historical gay romance. The only
problem with the work is that in the words of one literary agent, “It’s too damn
long!” At 160,000 words it’s about twice as long as a first novel should be. Lance
will be rewriting it to get it down to manageable size. This book will be the first
of a serial of books entitled “Whittworth Farms.” It’s placed on a plantation in
early American Virginia. The story includes romance between the young master of
the plantation and the slave he befriends. There is adventure, mystery and a great
deal of American history as it affects the characters and their families.
As his second effort at writing Lance began a story that he planned to be, in his
words, “pure trash.” The story is entitled "Nudist Camp Vacation"
and is posted on a free website. What began as an erotic story morphed into something
completely different. It does include some graphic sex, but it also includes rescue,
adventure, mystery, and a great deal of heartfelt love. The first twenty chapters
of "Nudist Camp Vacation, Part 1" are now available in print form
here. Lance is working
on Part 2, which he expects to publish sometime in 2009.
His recent completed project is a collection of short stories entitled "Roses In
The Desert." The eight short stories comprise a good length for a first novel, which
is now available in print
here.
Future projects include freelance writing of articles for selected periodicals.
As these are realized they’ll be announced here. Lance also has outlined several
other novels covering the genre of science fiction and a variety of social issues.
